Bulldogs baseball picks up first win

The Lake Mills baseball team picked up a 14-4, six-inning win Tuesday against Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka on the road for its first victory of the season.
The Bulldogs got nine hits, including a three-run homer in the third inning from Brad Midlang and Chris Throne was superb on the mound.
Throne threw 5 1/3 innings to get the win. He allowed just one hit and struck out 10 as he rebounded from his first start of the season.
The Tigers scored four runs in the fourth on a pair of two-run homers off Midlang.
Royce Byrnes went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Throne drove in two runs with a triple.
Lake Mills plays Thursday against Riceville in Riceville.
