Death called ‘suspicious’

The name of the woman who was found Sunday at the Rainbow Terrace trailer court Albert Lea police officers and state officials are investigating was released Monday.
Albert Lea Police Chief Dwaine Winkels said the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension mobile lab has been called to 730 Larimore Circle where the woman, who was identified as Jody Lee Morrow, 38, was found Sunday in the Rainbow Terrace trailer court. The entire trailer, including the entrance to Larimore Circle, has been blocked off with crime scene tape.
The man who police detained was identified as Chad Lee Gulbertson, 37.
According to a news release issued Sunday night, the police department received information of the death at about 11:48 a.m. earlier in the day. Officers responded to the address and found the woman.
“The circumstances surrounding the death appeared suspicious in nature,” the release stated.
More is expected to be released Monday morning after local authorities meet with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension team.
The incident is being investigated by the Albert Lea Police Department, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities could not confirm whether the death is a homicide.
The last homicide in Albert Lea was in 2005.
