Julie Zinschlag

Julie Ann Zinschlag, age 62, was born Nov. 11, 1946, to Franklin C. and Margaret I. (Johnson) Vanek in Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1964. She was a 35-year-resident of the Morningside area in Edina. She worked for many years at Security Insurance Edina, as an insurance underwriter then opened a home day care for children in her neighborhood. She loved gardening, her cats and children. She especially enjoyed visiting and helping her many friends.
Preceded in death by husband, David; and mother, Margaret. Survived by Father, Franklin Vanek; brothers, Kent (Beth) and their daughters, Todd (Mary); step-children, Carrie Schellberg (Bruce), David Zinschlag (Dawn) and their sons, and Carla Semple (Tom). Memorial graveside service Saturday, June 13, 1:30 p.m. at North Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery, Cark’s Grove. A lunch will follow at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
