The Albert Lea Colonels fell 20-3 to Owatonna Wednesday at Hayek Field as errors and a lack of hitting once again played a role in the loss.

The Colonels had just three hits in the game and committed seven errors in the field, which led to eight unearned runs.

The Aces pounded out 19 hits and took advantage of eight walks.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve played this poor of a game,” said Albert Lea head coach Bill Trygstad.

Colonels’ starter Joel Eisenbraun lasted just two innings and gave up six runs, one earned, on seven hits.

Casey Woodside had all three hits for Albert Lea. The Colonels scored their runs in the sixth inning when Nick Hagen drew a bases loaded walk, Frank Walls was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and also scored on a wild pitch.

Albert Lea faces New Ulm Sunday at 6 p.m. at Hayek Field.
