Ashley Christenson, right, and Sami Klapperick, left, present Christa Stieler, director of the Humane Society of Freeborn County, with a check for $832.78. The girls organized a rummage sale that was held May 23 to benefit the Humane Society. People donated items and cash to help the Humane Society in its efforts to raise money to build a shelter. The girls wish to thank Ashley’s grandparents, Rodger and Karen Christenson, for letting them hold the event in their garage, as well as all those who donated items and money as well as those who purchased items. People can also still make donations to the Humane Society’s building fund at Security Bank or they may be mailed to: Humane Society of Freeborn County. P.O. Box 423, Albert Lea.
