The Salvation Army only has 15 openings for its summer day camp program. Applications are available at the office. Children entering kindergarten through sixth grade in the fall of 2009 are eligible. Camp begins June 22 and runs through Aug. 21.
“Many interactive activities have been planned for this summer,” said Salvation Army Youth Director Lori Miles.
This year’s program will have additional programming to meet the changing need of the community. A well-balanced meal will be provided for both breakfast and lunch daily at no additional cost.
The camp is open from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on the week days. Enrollment is limited to 50 participants and is on a first-come-first-served basis. The cost is $70 for the first child and $50 per child if two or more. Some scholarships are provided for qualified individuals.
