On Jan. 22, Alex Amundson went before the Boy Scouts Board of Review. He was granted the status of Eagle Scout. This is a special honor, since only 4 percent of those who enter Boy Scouts ever achieve this rank. On May 3, a special ceremony was held to give Amundson recognition for this accomplishment. He has been with Troop 105 throughout his Scouting career. For his Eagle project, he made a double-sided sign for Round Prairie North Cemetery, then erected it on South Broadway near the parsonage. He also erected a cross in the cemetery that was donated by Alamco Wood Products Inc. He is the son of Alan and Sue Amundson of Glenville.
