Watershed district managers from across the state will be meeting today and Friday to participate in a tour sponsored by the Minnesota Association of Watershed Districts, which is hosted by the Shell Rock River Watershed District.
The purpose of the annual summer tour is to showcase the various watershed management projects of the host watershed district for other district officials throughout the state. The Minnesota Association of Watershed Districts also holds training opportunities for watershed district managers and staff.
Various other state and local government agencies will also be involved in the tour and training sessions. More than 150 participants are expected to attend this year’s summer tour. The tour headquarters will be at the Americas Best Value Inn (formerly Ramada Inn) in Albert Lea.
