The Blackhawks had just three hits and scored one in the second after Kasson-Mantorville made consecutive fielding miscues.

In the second game Alden-Albert Lea made a late rally to tie the game in the seventh inning.

The Blackhawks trailed 2-1 until the top of the seventh when Lana Howe reached on a one-out single. Howe advanced to third on two wild pitches and was able to score on Hayley Knutson’s single to make the game 2-2.

In extra innings the game was played by the international rules, meaning at the start of an inning each team would begin its at-bat with a runner on second base.

Alden-Albert Lea failed to capitalize on its opportunity as Kasson-Mantorville doubled up the Blackhawks in the eighth.

Kasson-Mantorville came back in the bottom half of the inning with two consecutive base hits to win the game.

Alden-Albert Lea plays Monday against Rochester in Alden.
