Building permit issued for Wal-Mart remodeling project

One building permit issued during June for interior remodeling at the Wal-Mart Super Center, 1550 Blake Ave., had a valuation that was nearly 75 percent of the total issued by the city of Albert Lea Inspection Department. According to the latest report from this city office the valuation of the Wal-Mart permit was $1,514,708.

This report lists 48 building permits with a valuation of $2,054,908 being issued during June, This increases the total valuation for permits issued during the first half of 2009 to $9,158,621.

At the end of June 2008, the city’s reported total valuation for permits issued was $5,938,210.

A permit with a valuation of $381,689 was issued to Bridon Cordage Inc., 906 16th St., for a 50-by-75-foot manufacturing addition.

Ventura Foods LLC, 919 E. 14th St., has been issued a permit with a valuation of $72,805 for a new roof project.

A city permit with a valuation of $135,000 has been issued for a new single family dwelling on Pride Lane.

The Freeborn County Planning and Zoning Office issued 21 building permits in June with a listed valuation of $711,742. This increases the estimated valuation for country issued permits for the first half of the year to $2,092,374.

Four of the county permits with a total valuation of $249,736 were issued to Northern Natural Gas for a compression station complex just west of Bath on County Road 35.
