‘Good Morning America’ is coming to Albert Lea

A spokeswoman for the AARP/Blue Zones Vitality Project has informed the Albert Lea Tribune that “Good Morning America” will broadcast a live segment from Albert Lea next Wednesday.
The show’s weather anchor, Sam Champion, is scheduled to come to Albert Lea on Tuesday night, stay overnight, then be present for the segment before leaving. The live shot takes place at 7:30 a.m.
Crew members for “Good Morning America” are slated to be in Albert Lea during the day on Tuesday to determine a location, make arrangements and set up equipment. “Good Morning America” airs at 7 a.m. daily on ABC, which in the Albert Lea area is KAAL-TV of Austin.
The segment will be to discuss the AARP/Blue Zones Vitality Project taking place in Albert Lea this summer. The spokeswoman said ABC has an interest in covering the project to its end in October. The Vitality Project aims to make Albert Lea residents healthier by making simple changes in their lifestyles.
The National Weather Service forecasts Wednesday’s weather to be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. The day’s high is forecast to be 81.
