Melvin A. Rupp of Albert Lea held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel, in Albert Lea. The Rev. Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Bonnerup Funeral Service Internment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Mr. Rupp died July 13, 2009 at his home in Albert Lea. He was 95 years young.
Melvin was born Jan. 16, 1914, in Walters, the son of Henry and Minnie Rupp.
Melvin moved to Albert Lea in 1940, got a job at Wilson & Co. in the stock yards. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and grandkids. He also was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church.
Melvin is survived by his son, Gary Rupp, and his daughter, Diane Kaiser, of Albert Lea. One brother, Harold Rupp, of Albert Lea and one sister, Evelyn Anderson, of Geneva. Melvin has six grandkids — all reside in Minnesota — and a host of great-grandchildren.
