Mother cared for well at Good Sam

It seems to be the popular thing to voice negative opinions about the care at our nursing homes in Albert Lea. Some of these may be accurate, but I would like to voice another opinion about the care that my mother received at Good Samaritan Center of Albert Lea.
She was a resident there for about two years. Most of the time she was on Station 3 and the last few days of her life she spent on Station 2. I feel that she received excellent care. The employees on both stations were respectful, caring, considerate and always showed a genuine concern for my mother.
In the last few days there, the ladies at the end of their shift would stop by her room to see how Mom was doing. They said how they enjoyed taking care of her and always offered words of encouragement to us. These kindnesses will never be forgotten.
Thanks also to Pastor Kent for his prayers and hymns and to Rachel Christenson for the beautiful harp music.
My wife, Marilyn, and I ate several meals there, and they also were excellent. Thanks to the kitchen staff. They always kept us in cookies and coffee when we were staying around the clock.
In my opinion, these men and women do a fantastic job. They do a job that many of us couldn’t do and they rest of us don’t want to. They deserve our respect and admiration for doing such a fine job.
