Facing the No. 3 team in the state is no small task, but Northwood-Kensett starter Kate Hartman was able to limit North Butler to six hits Monday, unfortunately the Vikings (2-21, 0-14 Corn Bowl) were held to three and lost 8-0 in Northwood.

The Bearcats scored two runs in the third and added three in the fourth and seventh for the shutout win.

Jordan Garcia, Jamie Dahlby and Brooke Claussen each had a hit for the Vikings.

Claussen hit a double in the first inning but was thrown out trying to steal third.

Northwood-Kensett will face 11th-ranked WCLT Wednesday in the first round of the Regional playoffs.
