Jan passed away on Aug. 20, 2009, at the age of 58. She was born July 17, 1951, in Pipestone to Walter and Lucille Rundle. She graduated from high school in Pipestone in 1969 and from Mankato Commercial College in 1970. Jan was married to Don Buley on Oct. 28, 1972, at Knox Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. She worked as an administrative assistant in the Albert Lea schools for many years, most recently at Hawthorne Elementary. She and Don were long-time members at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea and regularly attended Crossroads for the past five years. Jan’s greatest joy and strength was found in God and expressed in the love she had for her family and many dear friends. She was an avid reader, beginning the day with her devotions. She was an incredible cook and enjoyed cross-stitching. She found a lot of happiness being outside gardening and camping, and she loved all animals. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Don of Albert Lea; son, Matthew and his wife Theresa (Remir, Mary Joy, Mark, Raymund) of Blaine; daughter, Melissa Ausen and her husband Josh (Max, Ashton) of Albert Lea; daughter, Makala Hanson and her husband Corey of Hartland; brother, Steve Rundle of Tracy; and sister, Pam Hanna of Leland, Iowa. Jan was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary Rundle.
