The Freeborn County Fair recognized three people for their contributions to the fair Friday evening.

They were recognized before the “Little Big Town” concert in the grandstand.

Named as “Fair People of the Year” were:

 Ruth Vermedahl, who has worked in the fair office for many years and is now in charge of reserved seating in the grandstand.

Jan Reed, whose business, Hi-Yield Products of Hartland and Alden, has been a big contributor to the 4-H Livestock Sale for many years.

Karen Jacobs, an employee of the Freeborn County Shopper, who has put together the fair book for many years.
