Tornado watch, heat advisory issued for southern Minn.

A tornado watch has been issued for Freeborn, Waseca and Faribault counties in southern Minnesota until 10 p.m, and a heat advisory remains in effect in the area until 6 p.m. this evening.
Temperatures in the area will near 90 degrees, and that heat could produce thunderstorms in the area later today. With the high temperatures and high humidity, the heat index will be between 95 and 100.
According to the National Weather Service, the heat and humidity can cause heat illnesses, and people are recommended to drink plenty of fluids, stay indoors out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors.
The low front that brought the heat to the area could also bring storms this afternoon and this evening.
According to the National Weather Service, storms could develop this afternoon as the warm front moves north. Damaging winds and hail are possible, as is an isolated tornado.
Thunderstorms could develop tonight with heavy rains and flash flooding possible in some areas.
