Starting today, some roadways in Austin will be adjusted as part of an ongoing bridge project.

Eighth Avenue Northeast and a bike trail on the south side of Interstate 90 will close until late November, while 10th Place Northeast on the north side of I-90 will open with a crushed rock surface; it is scheduled to be paved in late November. The road will remain open through winter.

Single-lane traffic on I-90 will remain through November, according to a Minnesota Department of Transportation news release.

The traffic changes will allow crews to work on the south side of the Dobbins Creek box culvert. That project is expected to be completed by September 2010.

The work is part of the larger $12.8 million “Bridges of Mower County” project, which includes work on four bridges near Dobbins and Turtle creeks and is partially funded by the federal stimulus.

Bridges of Mower County is scheduled to be done by September 2010.
