A free program, “Diabetes and How it Affects the Nerves,” is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at HealthReach, 1705 S.E. Broadway Ave., Albert Lea.
Sponsored by Albert Lea Medical Center — part of Mayo Health System — and District 241, the session will be presented by Dr. Eun J. Kim, ALMC Rehabilitation Medicine. ALMC’s diabetes educators will also be on hand to answer questions following the presentation.
Diabetes can cause many complications and affecting the nerves is one of them. Tingling, numbness, and loss of sensation are just a few descriptions of what it feels like when the nerves are affected. Join Dr. Kim for a presentation on what can be done to slow this process down as well as how to cope and manage when you are experiencing this problem.
