Two arrested following Iowa drug bust

Two men were arrested Thursday after a joint search warrant was executed at a residence near Northwood, Iowa.
According to a Worth County Sheriff’s Office news release, the Worth County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa National Guard, the North Iowa Narcotics Task Force and the Iowa State Patrol executed the warrant at a residence east of Northwood at 1641 480th Street
A large marijuana growing operation was seized, along with a large amount of methamphetamine, numerous drug paraphernalia and guns, the release stated.
Arrested were Eric Scott Francis on charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and Brent Alan Murphy on charges of posession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.
One arrested for assault
An 18-year-old Hollandale man was arrested for second-degree assault on Wednesday after Albert Lea police received a call of a non-student at the Albert Lea Area Learning Center pulling a knife on a student behind the Brookside Education Center. Robert Goodew, 18, was arrested, but was later released from the Freeborn County Jail, according to Albert Lea Police Chief Dwaine Winkels. The Freeborn County Attorney’s Office did not file charges.
Items reported taken from vehicles
Two speakers and an amplifier, estimated at $590, were reported taken from a blue Grand Marquis on the 500 block of West College Street at 7:34 a.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
Two walkie-talkies were reported taken from a red Ford F-150 on the 500 block of Triangle Drive at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday, reports stated.
An iPod, iPod player and headphones were reported stolen from a car on the 400 block of Adams Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Wednesday, according to reports.
Man arrested for DWI
Police arrested Jason Dean Kuipers, 25, for drunken driving at 12:29 a.m. today after a traffic stop near the intersection of Euclid Avenue and West Main Street, police reports stated.
Driver injured in roll over
NEW RICHLAND — Lucas J. Johnson, 16, Ellendale, was injured when the GMC pickup he was driving left State Highway 30 three miles east of New Richland and rolled over at 3:38 p.m. Thursday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The patrol’s report said Johnson was transported by the New Richland Ambulance to the Owatonna Hospital and later transferred to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Johnson’s condition was listed as serious by the State Patrol.
Assisting at the accident scene was the Waseca County Sheriff’s Office.
