Wing at St. John’s has dedicated staff

On Aug. 1, I was admitted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester because of two ruptured disks in my back. I had surgery on Aug. 5 and was fitted for a leg brace on my left leg. They called it a leg-drop. I stayed in Rochester for one week and then was transported to St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. It was here, in the rehabilitation wing, that I met the most dedicated people I have ever known. All the way down, from the administration to the cleanup people, they waited on me hand and foot for 19 days. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how positive these people are.

My nurses were always available to see that I was comfortable and was not suffering any unnecessary pain. My meals were served in my room as if I were a king. The food was nutritious and very good.

I cannot say enough good things about the physical therapists. They gave me exercise to strengthen my arms and legs. They were always saying positive things to the patients. Such as: “Good work, Charlie” or “Wonderful, Agnes.” The physical therapists had me progressing from a wheelchair to a walker to using a cane and gave me exercises to do at home to keep building my muscles.

There are no better people, in the whole wide world, than the workers at St. John’s! Amen.
