Former Albert Lea resident Pogo the Clown (Richard Miller) will collect items at 505 Green Ave. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for a homeless ministry he has began in Pueblo, Colo., with his wife, Jane. The ministry is called Project Happiness.

The Project Happiness team has seven members and provides sack lunches on Saturdays as well as water any time the weather gets above 90 degrees. There are about 100 homeless people living in Pueblo.

The ministry is not funded by any outside organizations and runs on donated items.

The needs are: stocking caps and baseball caps, gloves, sweat pants medium to large, thermal tops and bottoms in medium to extra large, sweatshirts or hoodies in medium to extra large, flannel shirts in medium to extra large, jeans 34 to 38 waist, blankets, bandanas, peanut butter (for sack lunches), wool scarves and coats in medium to extra large. There is also a family with children in need of clothing: girls’ jeans 12 to 16, medium girls’ shirts, size 4T to 5T clothes for a girl and and 18- to 24-month sizes for a boy.
