Harvest Festival a tremendous success

Published 9:43 am Saturday, October 24, 2009

On Sept. 12, the town of Hollandale celebrated with a Harvest Festival that included the Motor Madness events of car football and mud bog at the same time as many other family events like a pancake breakfast, horse and wagon rides, Heritage Huis tours, art fair and farmers’ market, harvest related kids’ games and a great band and community supper.

The festival was brought back and organized by the Hollandale Moms’ Group to benefit the Hollandale First Responders goal of purchasing a new emergency vehicle.  All events were free to the public and there was definitely something for everyone. Many people came together to celebrate and support our unique town and the people who make it special.

The day was a tremendous success with all of the proceeds going to the Hollandale First Responders! A check for $6,221.30 was presented to the First Responders from the Hollandale Moms’ Group/ Hollandale Commercial Club on Oct. 14.
