Angie vs. Mandy and the dueling books

Angie:
“Snuff”: I always assumed Palahnuik was a male orientated author because of his other book “Fight Club.”
He definitely leans towards the Y chromosome but that didn’t distract me from his amazing and twisted storytelling of the porn industry. That said, this is not a book for everyone, especially my grandmother.
Gma, do not read this book.
Seriously, I love you and your goodness must remain intact. For everyone who’s not my sweet grandmother, this book is brain on the wall mind-blowing. I had to read the ending twice it was so unbelievable.
Mandy:
“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” originally titled in Swedish “Men Who Hate Women,” was written as the first of a trilogy called the Millennium Trilogy.
It becomes apparent as the plot progresses why the author, Stieg Larsson, chose that title: this book outlines several related acts of violence in which the perpetrator is a man and the victim is a woman.
It leaves you asking yourself why violence against women continues to go unnoticed and unpunished so frequently.
This novel is a crime drama and mystery. A whodunit, if you will.
The book takes the reader on a roller-coaster ride thorough the rich history of politics, business and violence of an affluent family in Sweden.
This book really becomes especially interesting toward the end, because, after all, it was written as a trilogy.
Stick with it and you’ll be hoping “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” finds revenge and redemption by the end of the trilogy.
