The Minnesota football team is hitting the road this weekend — literally.

The Golden Gophers will take about a five-hour bus ride to and from Iowa rather than flying. The school made the decision to try and save some money during these difficult economic times.

Coach Tim Brewster says the team will watch a movie and make a lunch stop about halfway through the trip.

The coach is doing his best to put a positive spin on the decision. He calls it “a refreshing change.”

Seniors will be allowed to pick the movies for the trip. Junior quarterback Adam Weber says he is lobbying for football-related flicks like “Remember the Titans” and “Rudy.”
