The fifth-hour computer technology students recently completed their nine-week course at Southwest Middle School.

The class focuses on many of the Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Power Point. In addition to working with those programs the students also worked on their keyboarding skills.

Over the period students would work on various typing lessons to increase their accuracy on the keyboard without looking at their keys.

Students were also able to test themselves on their words per minute and recorded their scores throughout the quarter. The range of improvement for the fifth-hour class with their keyboard cover on was from two words a minute up to 20 words per minute.
