Walz visits Albert Lea’s runway construction

Congressman Tim Walz was in Albert Lea this morning to see firsthand the jobs created by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding received by the Albert Lea. Walz toured the construction site of the new runway at the Albert Lea Municipal Airport.
Albert Lea received $4 million for three projects including about $700,000 to create access to the Interstate 35/Interstate Business Park; $2.85 million to construct a new runway at the Albert Lea Municipal Airport; and about $440,000 to rehabilitate the old runway.
He was at the airport from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
