It’s good to see the Freeborn County commissioners recognizing three heroes from recent events.

We have some to add — the motorists who pulled over on Interstate 90 the afternoon of Nov. 18, when a tour bus rolled over three miles west of Austin.

These good Samaritans could have kept driving. They stopped to help and managed to open the hatches atop the bus in an effort to help people get out. One even crawled through the bus to go to the rear hatch. Even after first responders swiftly arrived, the people who got there first were still helping to comfort the injured.

These, too, are heroic efforts. We hope they receive honors just the same.
