We don’t advocate drinking booze. That said, if you choose the celebrate on New Year’s Eve by drinking alcoholic beverages, we suggest this tact:

Try quality, not quantity.

If you have partied hard in the past, this year, put aside youthful ways and be the grown-up. Drink in moderation. You’ll have more fun on Dec. 31 and on Jan. 1 as a result.

Purchase that really tasty beer one of your friends always suggests. Get that expensive bottle of wine you always wanted to try. Treat yourself to taste and class, not foolishness and imprudence.

Have a little of the good stuff, not a lot of the bad stuff.

Some people lead their friends. Others let their friends lead them. Be a leader and show your friends that you have grown. Show them there’s nothing wrong with moderation among adults.

And no matter what you drink, always, always, always assign a designated driver. Don’t make the community have to read about a tragedy on the front page of the paper. No one wants that, especially you.
