New Hollandale venture is really three businesses in one

This city has a new restaurant. And a new bar. And a new gas station.
And all three are the same business. It’s called the Three in One Bar & Restaurant. Dale and Shelli Miller opened at 101 Park Ave. W. on Sept. 12.
Shelli said the prior business, a place called Deb’s, had closed and they saw an opportunity.
“So we thought the town would appreciate something that opened,” she said.
The Three in One offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dale said the business opened earlier than planned and is why the 2,700-square-foot place has some unfinished construction.
He said to meet codes and to look nice he made a sizeable investment on the restrooms.
The gas station has gasoline and diesel, plus a store in a corner at the front of the building. Walking in, the bar is on the left and the restaurant seating area is on the right.
“The biggest thing is we have a super-friendly waitstaff. We have really good food, reasonable,” Dale said.
Three in One has standard American breakfast fare and offers dinner specials. The Saturday specials rotate among steak, shrimp, fish and ribs. The place offers broasted chicken every Friday and Saturday. Thursday is taco night. The darts league is on Monday. The pool league takes place Tuesday. Foosball is on Wednesday.
Opening their open business wasn’t really a dream for the couple, he said. It was more that Dale had done the work for other places, most recently the Geneva liquor store, and decided to try it himself.
Dale is a farmer, too, and the couple lives near Maple Island. He also does trenching, snowblowing, deer-processing and other work, he said.
“I do a whole bunch of stuff.”
