The rematch of the last year’s Section 2AA title game between the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls’ basketball team and Blue Earth played out similar to last year’s regular season meeting as the Panthers used a balanced attack to get past the Buccaneers 47-37 in Blue Earth.

Alyssa Kerkhoff, Kristina Cole and Kate Quam each scored in double figures for NRHEG (3-1) with Kerkhoff leading the Panthers with 13 points.

“Our defense was key tonight, as well as our balanced scoring attack,” said NRHEG head coach Mindy Sparby. “The girls played very well as a team and did the little things well.”

The Panthers face Mankato Loyola Tuesday in Mankato.
