Panthers return to form with rout of Randolph

The New RIchland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls’ basketball got back to winning after suffering an 81-53 blowout loss against Winona Cotter Friday in Winona with a 52-21 drubbing of Randolph in New Richland.

Anna Schlaak led the Panthers (2-1, 1-0 Gopher) with 12 points and Kristina Cole added 11.

The NRHEG defense forced 28 turnovers and had 26 steals in the game as the Panthers jumped out to a 42-12 halftime lead and held the Rockets to nine points in the second half.

“The Panthers played well tonight as a team,” said NRHEG head coach Mindy Sparby.

The Panthers face Blue Earth Friday in Blue Earth in a rematch of the Section 2AA title game last season.
