Three goal second period pushes Century past Tigers

A 1-1 game turned into an ugly 5-2 final for the Albert Lea boys’ hockey team Thursday against Rochester Century in Rochester.
The Tigers (2-1) gave up three goals in the second period as the Panthers (2-2) got the best of Albert Lea in a matchup of the co-defending Big Nine Conference champions.
“They simply outplayed us and took it to us,” said Tigers head coach Roy Nystrom.
Cory Kautz scored three times and Connor Faupel added a goal and two assists.
David Enstad scored at 13:18 in the first period for Albert Lea and Luke Cheever added a third period goal.
The Tigers face Mayo Saturday in Rochester.
