Wolverines let down in second half

A change in defensive strategy backfired for Glenville-Emmons head coach Dan Frederickson Thursday against Lyle/Pacelli in Glenville.

The Wolverines ran a triangle in two defense in the first half and limited the Athletics top two players to a combined five points as the teams were tied at 23 at halftime. But a switch to a 2-3 zone gave Brady Stier and Cody Meyer space to operate and they went on to lead Lyle/Pacelli to a 30 point second half and a 53-38 victory. Frederickson made the switch to make his team feel more comfortable on the court, but it didn’t work.

“It was a coaching error on my part,” Frederickson said.
