2 Republican candidates to visit Albert Lea next week

There will two opportunities to meet Republican candidates next week.
Allen Quist, a candidate for the 1st Congressional District, will meet the public at The Trumble’s Restaurant in Albert Lea at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Quist is an adjunct professor of political science at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. He is an author of five books. Quist, with his son, also runs a 1,200-acre farm in rural St. Peter. He and his wife, Julie, have 10 children, 31 grandchildren.
Quist served three terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1983 to 1988.
State Sen. David Hann, a Republican gubernatorial candidate, will be at Wedgewood Cove Golf Club at 6 p.m. next Thursday. Everyone is welcome to come for dinner, on your own, a cup of coffee or just to share views.
Hann has served in the state senator for six years. He was elected in 2006 to the position of assistant minority leader in the Republican caucus.
He served three terms on the Eden Prairie school board and has been recognized twice as an outstanding legislator by the Minnesota School Board Association.
Hann is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College. He worked for 25 years for E.A. Sween Co., where he served as director of logistics. He has lived in Eden Prairie with his wife, Anne since 1983. They have four children and one grandchild.
