Two teen drivers were killed in a head-on collision in southern Minnesota.

The crash happened Monday afternoon on Minnesota Highway 22 north of Mapleton in Blue Earth County.

The State Patrol identifies the victims as 16-year-old Troy Schultz of Mapleton and 18-year-old Julia Tran Lam of Mankato.

Authorities say both teens were wearing seat belts and their air bags deployed.

KEYC-TV of Mankato reports both were students at Maple River High School in Mapleton.
