The Albert Lea wrestling team went 3-0 Saturday to win the Champlin Park Invitational in Champlin Park

The Tigers (12-10) clinched the tournament victory with a 34-28 victory over St. Francis in the finals.

Albert Lea got four falls in the match and pulled off two one-point decisions to win.

“I can the team improving,” said Tigers head coach Larry Goodnature.

Trey Hable, Dalton Westerlund, Carter Kortan, Connor Kortan, and Cory Hansen all went 3-0 at the tournament and picked up some important victories all the way.

After Albert Lea knocked off Ellsworth 69-6 and Eagan 41-21, the Tigers held on for a six-point victory over St. Francis. Hable got an 8-7 decision and Lucas Hansen picked up a 4-3 decision while Carter Kortan, Tylor Nelson, Westerlund and Cory Hansen picked up falls.
