Arlene Hanson

The memorial service for Arlene M. Hanson of Albert Lea will be held at noon Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, 2210 E. Main St., Albert Lea. Private interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour before services at the funeral home.
Arlene died on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
She was 86.
She was born on June 24, 1923, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Peter J. and Myrtle G. (Hagen) Olsen.
She attended Albert Lea Schools and was united in marriage to Riney Olson in 1941. Riney died in 1967. Arlene was later united in marriage to Phillip C. Hanson in 1971. He also preceded her in death in 2003.
Arlene had owned and operated “Phil’s Café” and later worked for several years at Herberger’s before retiring.
She enjoyed doing crafts, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children: Perry Olson and his wife Stacia of Apple Valley, Dale Olson and his wife Tessie of Kingman, Ariz.; stepdaughter Bonnie Hanson of Woodbury; stepdaughter-in-law, Kitty Hanson, Albert Lea; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister Carol (Vernon) Christensen of Lakeville; brothers: Earl (Pearl) Olsen of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Warren “Bud” Olsen of Albert Lea, Kenneth Olsen of Albert Lea, Donald (Mickiko) Olsen of Alamagordo, N.M.; special brother-in-law, Lyle Hanson and his wife Ann of Albert Lea; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Riney Olson and Phillip Hanson; stepson Steve Hanson; and sisters-in-law: Betty Olsen, and Gloria and her husband Dick Allard.
