Betty Hanson, 87

Memorial services for Betty L. Hanson, 87, will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Betty died on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Keystone Communities in Mankato.
Betty Louise Hanson was born on April 29, 1922, in New London, Conn. During World War II she worked at Woolworth’s in New London; in 1946 she was united in marriage to Paul O. Hanson and moved to Albert Lea where they lived for 62 years.
Betty worked at Lea College and did volunteer work at grade schools in Albert Lea. She was a devoted wife and mother who dedicated her life to raising her family. She also had a great love of animals, especially her cats.
Survivors include her children: Dorothy (Robert) Huff, Robert Hanson, and Toni (Robert) Horning; sisters: Louise Gilbert and Florence Nahlar; brother, Louis (Judi) Peltier; brother-in-law, Tony (Bonnie) Hanson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- granddaughter.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Paul O. Hanson, and daughter, Judith Dekle.
