Lloyd Drussel

Lloyd J. Drussell, 87, of West Bend, Iowa, formerly of Albert Lea, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at the West Bend Care Center. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, West Bend, with burial to follow in the West Bend Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday. Harris Funeral Home of West Bend is in charge of arrangements.
Lloyd John Drussell, the son of Harry and Mary (Rabe) Drussell was born Sept. 16, 1922, in Fargo, N.D. Lloyd’s family moved to Thompson, Iowa, and then to West Bend, Iowa, in 1937 where he finished his education, graduating from the West Bend High School. He then joined the Air Force where he flew B-25’s during World War II. After his discharge he attended college at the University of Minnesota for one year. Lloyd worked for years at Streater, Inc. in Albert Lea. He entered the West Bend Care Center in 2003 where he had been a resident until his death.
Survivors include his brother, Donald Drusell of Knoxville, Iowa; sisters Ruth Kuecker of San Jose, Calif., and Phyllis Rowe of El Dorado Hills, Calif.; along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Viola Christenson, Francis Kuecker and Helen Kay Helleseth.
