Local producers, Jill Louters and Stephanie Passingham, announce the opening of the on-line organic farmers market: MyOrganicNeighborhood.com.

According to Passingham, “Our goal is to help customers find quality organic food — straight from the farm.”

Five Minnesota farms are collaborating to offer a variety of food, including fruit, vegetables and meat.

“Our farmers are ready and waiting to meet you and help you select the freshest, tastiest products for your table. We take pride in carefully tending our crops and livestock. We think customers will notice the difference,” said Louters.

All products are raised according to the USDA National Organic Program standard.

Louters and Passingham operate an organic farm just outside of Conger. The number of organic farms is increasing. Many participate in their local farmers markets. MyOrganicNeighborhood.com gives them a chance to offer their products to another segment of the consumer market.

“We are excited about working with other farms to increase options for them and consumers,” said Louters.

According to Passingham, product will be shipped via next day service to customers, straight from each producer. Louters and Passingham will facilitate ordering through the central Web site, MyOrganicNeighborhood.com.

Rural development, collaboration with other producers and educating consumers are all positive outcomes from working to provide organic food to people who love to eat. For more information, visit MyOrganicNeighborhood.com or call (507) 402-9748.
