A 44-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted in the stabbing and beating death of a Claremont man two years ago.
A Dodge County jury returned guilty verdicts on four counts of murder Thursday afternoon against Daniel Ortega Sr. He was immediately sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Ortega’s son, Danny Jr., was convicted of the same offenses in December and is also serving a life sentence without parole.
Both men were charged in the death of Troy Ulrich, who was beaten and stabbed to death early Feb. 16, 2008.
Prosecutors say Ulrich had a confrontation with the Ortegas in the garage of an apartment building. Father and son then repeatedly stabbed, kicked and beat him.
