A southern Minnesota man has died in a grain bin accident near Butterfield.

The Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office said 55-year-old Delyle Fast of rural Butterfield was trapped inside the bin about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Fast was removed from the bin and pronounced dead at the scene.

The most common form of death in grain bin accidents is suffocation. The accidents happen across farm states every year.
