W-E-M gets past NRHEG boys by one

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown escaped with a one-point victory over the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva boys’ basketball team Tuesday in New Richland.

The Panthers (9-3, 4-2) rallied from a 12-point deficit in the second half and grabbed a two-point lead with a minute to play, but the 10th-ranked Buccaneers got a steal and a layup to tie the game and later took the lead for good.

Cory Camerer led NRHEG with 20 points and 13 rebounds and Hunter Eustice had eight points.

Tyler Dillon led Waterville-Elysian-Morristown with 27 points.

The Panthers play Friday against Medford in New Richland.
