Wolverine girls unable to close first half deficit

Lanesboro used a big first half to hold off the Glenville-Emmons girls’ basketball team Friday 58-49 in Lanesboro.

The Wolverines entered the break down 14 points but they rallied in the second half to outscore the Burros 31-26. Still, it wasn’t enough to close the 24-point lead Lanesboro established in the first half.

The Wolverines had two players with double doubles. Kalli VanRyswyk recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds and Kailey Davis recorded 11 points and 10 steals. Emily Belshan gave Glenville-Emmons a third player in double figures with 11 points on the night.

The Burros were led by Paige Hungerholt, who had 11 points. Emma McGrath added 10 points.

Glenville-Emmons will be in action Tuesday as it plays Schaeffer Academy in Glenville.
