It’s time for angry voters to join the Tea Party

A sleeping giant has been awakened. The election of Scott Brown to the Senate seat held by the late Edward Kennedy is proof that this countries’ silent majority is fed up with the direction of the present government administration. The Democratic Party scoffed at the Tea Party movement and called the participants at town hall meetings unruly mobs. However, the people have spoken via ballot box.
Massachusetts independent voters overwhelming rejected the concept of government-run health care, dirty back-room deals, out-of-control deficit spending, big corporation bailouts and giving terrorists rights reserved for American citizens.
The Republicans may feel that this was a victory for them. This is not necessarily true. The independents and Tea Party movement ideals may be conservative, but that does not mean a ringing endorsement of the Republican platform. It will take a great deal of effort by the Republicans to convince the independents that they (the Republicans) can be trusted. However, the effort must be made. This country does not need a third party that will split the conservative vote and guarantee continued liberal policies. The Massachusetts vote should serve as a wakeup call for both parties.
The Republicans in Congress were as culpable as the Democrats in allowing the deficit to expand at a unprecedented level during the Bush administration. As a group they were just as guilty as the Democrats in adding earmarks for their favorite projects and have done their share to grow government and restrict our freedoms. Keep in mind that it is the Congress that must pass spending appropriations, not the president. George W. Bush may be blamed, but Congress was at fault; Congress is in fact corrupt! The record of every incumbent must be put under the microscope before receiving your vote.
To fully understand the far left’s agenda and the level of corruption within the current administration, one must read “The Cultural of Corruption” by Michelle Milken.
We are still waiting for a congressional investigation of ACORN, and the level of involvement by our elected officials.
If you consider yourself to be a independent, conservative or disgruntled middle-of-the-road liberal, now is the time to get involved. Join the Tea Party or other independent movement. Speak out on the issues that are important to you. If you are a registered Republican, now is the time to encourage your party to moderate the voice of the far right so that there is room for more conservatives under the party tent.
America is still the greatest country in the world. I, for one, am fed up with our president apologizing to the world for our actions. We have nothing to be ashamed of. A large percentage of the citizens in this country have roots going back to Europe. If life was so good in Europe, why did our forefathers leave? Perhaps the Ivy League, socialist, intellectual elitists should move to Europe. One of the most serious mistakes this country could make is to continue to travel the road leading to a single socialist world government. Any congressional actions that would allow international law to supersede our Constitution must be vigorously apposed.
America has done more to protect freedom than any other country. Our youth has shed blood all over the world to protect freedom. As a nation we have responded to every natural emergency, sending manpower, food and funding without conditions. The disaster in Haiti is the latest example. Consider for a moment that a number of individuals in this country have given more personally in donations to Haiti than the entire country of Saudi Arabia; I find this fact be appalling! It is time to change our policies on where we purchase foreign oil.
We must produce as much oil as possible internally and buy as much as possible from our friends. Why continue to fill the coffers of countries that use our money to support the very terrorists who are determined to destroy our way of life and are not willing to use their billions for humanitarian causes? It makes no sense!
If the independent voters can put a hold on government-run health care, perhaps with a unified voice, realistic heath care reform can be achieved, we can stop cap and trade, make positive changes to this country’s energy policy, take the needed action to stop illegal immigration, reverse the growth of big government, lower taxes and change the tax policies in a manner that would encourage our manufacturers to keep jobs in this country, rather than chasing the cheapest labor costs in the world.
We may have won a battle but the radical socialist left is determined to prevail. There will be more arm twisting and shady backroom deals. Now that our voice is being heard, we must not relax. We must continue to be vigilant and speak out. If your elected officials do not support your values, get involved and vote them out of office.
The people still have the ultimate power. We are the people!
