The second time around with Le Center wasn’t as good for the Alden-Conger boys’ basketball team Monday.

The Knights fell 51-45 in Le Center in the Valley Conference Showcase after previously defeating the Wildcats 66-59 Feb. 11 in Alden.

John Paulsen scored 21 points for Le Center and Justin Srnec added 11 as the Wildcats (10-10, 7-5 Valley) started the game on an 8-0 run.

Alden-Conger (7-14, 3-8 Valley) got as close as three in the second half, but couldn’t close the gap.

Brandon McTague led the Knights with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
