Due to popular demand, this year’s event will have two performances

Get your tickets now for the 2010 edition of Dancing with the Freeborn County Stars Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Albert Lea High School Auditorium. Reserved tickets are $15 and general admission tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased at the Red Cross office (1608 W. Fountain Street), Doyle’s Hallmark, Ben’s Floral and Frame Design and Celebrations.

This fourth annual bash, which is based on the popular ABC series, is a fundraiser for the local Red Cross chapter. Local personalities are paired with experienced dancers and winners are decided based on judges’ scores and votes from the audience. Attendees vote for their favorite couple by donating money while enjoying refreshments during the intermission.

Money raised stays in Freeborn County and funds local Red Cross programs. The Red Cross provides immediate needs for those impacted by disasters including house fires and weather-related problems. The local chapter provides training and education for first aid, CPR, babysitting, preparedness, pandemic and flu-related topics. The Red Cross is also an important link between persons serving in the Armed Forces and their family members at home.
