Tigers lose third consecutive game to end regular season

The late season slide continued for the Albert Lea girls’ basketball team Friday as Austin beat the Tigers 67-61 in Austin.
The Tigers (11-13, 9-9 Big Nine) lost their third consecutive game to end the regular season and finish sixth in the Big Nine Conference.
Austin’s Babaye Oja scored 23 points and Kaycee Lukes scored 17 points to lead the Packers (5-18, 4-13) past Albert Lea, which played without leading scorer Abbey Arends, who is out with mono.
Alyssa Sager led the Tigers with 21 points and Morgan Stadheim scored 20, but Albert Lea shot 29 percent from the field.
The Tigers begin the section playoffs Wednesday, seeding was determined Saturday.
