Poor shooting and lackluster rebounding added up in the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls’ basketball team’s second defeat in its past three Friday when Waseca routed the Panthers 52-37 in Ellendale.

NRHEG (20-6, 15-1 Gopher) shot 26 percent from the field and got outrebounded 46-26 by the Bluejays (10-12) who handed the Panthers their only regular season loss last year.

Alyssa Kerkhoff scored 16 points for the Panthers, who face Southland Tuesday in the opening round of the 2AA subsection tournament at Ellendale.
